Meriwest Promotes Susan Louie to Assistant Vice President, Controller

07/10/07

Meriwest Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions serving Silicon Valley, the San Francisco Bay Area and Tucson, Arizona, today announced the promotion of Susan Louie to Assistant Vice President, Controller.

In her new position, Ms. Louie will manage Meriwest's accounting department, as well as coordinate the team's deliverables with external compliance auditors and regulators. In addition, she will be responsible for ensuring that Meriwest's financial statements are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and working with team members to develop and implement solutions to automate and improve efficiency for the Credit Union.

"Susan has been managing the accounting group since she joined Meriwest six years ago, and played a significant role during our merger with Silicon Valley Credit Union in 2005," said Hudson Lee, Meriwest Chief Financial Officer. "Her attention to detail and desire to constantly seek ways to improve the efficiency of the department has helped automate many functions that were previously performed manually."

Before she joined Meriwest as Assistant Controller in 2001, Ms. Louie served as Corporate Accounting Manager at Verisity Inc., where she oversaw daily accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. Prior to that, she acted as Corporate Controller for Wellington Underwriting Inc., a Lloyd's of London Syndicate, where she was responsible for managing all of the accounting functions for the auto and casualty reinsurance arm in North America, as well as overseeing Human Resource and IT functions for the organization.

Ms. Louie earned her bachelor's degree in Accounting from Pace University in New York and is also a certified public accountant.
