Meriwest Increases Credit Union Membership through Special 7.50% One Year Certificate Promotion

SAN JOSE, CA - Meriwest Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions serving Silicon Valley, the Greater Bay Area and Tucson, Arizona announced the recent success of their New Member Certificate promotion. During the 2 month period of the promotion, Meriwest added an additional 476 new members directly related to the promotion. In addition to the new members, the promotion on the $1,000 minimum/maximum one year 7.50% APY Certificate generated over $2.6 Million in new deposits of other products and nearly $400,000 in loans. As part of the requirement to open the certificate, new members were also required to open a checking account.
