Meriwest Credit Union gives School Supplies to Joseph Weller Elementary School in Milpitas

Meriwest Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions serving Silicon Valley, the Greater Bay Area and Tucson, Arizona announced today that they have collected and delivered over 200 pounds of school supplies to Joseph Weller Elementary School in Milpitas, CA.
Joseph Weller Elementary School had a tremendous need for supplies as many of the student's families were unable to afford the purchase of basic items such as pencils, notebooks, binders, and other school supplies needed for the new school year. Meriwest staff heard about the school's lack of basic stationary items on Friday the 22nd of August and sent an appeal to fellow staff at the Meriwest Credit Union Main Office. Within a week, Meriwest staff had collected over 200 lbs of supplies to deliver to Weller Elementary.
"Joseph Weller Elementary was a school in need. The students and teachers lacked many of the basic school supplies that many of us in business take for granted," said Christopher Owen, President and CEO of Meriwest Credit Union, "We did our best to make an impact for this school and its' students. I am proud of the Meriwest Team for their quick response in supporting this initiative in our community."
