Meriwest Yields Three Bill Pay Contest Winners

During June and July 2008, Meriwest Bill Pay users and users from several other credit unions, were entered into a nationwide sweepstakes contest sponsored by PSCU Financial Services. With over 2 million entries in all and an amazing stroke of luck, Meriwest members won three prizes - including the Grand Prize of $10,000 cash!

SAN JOSE, CA - Meriwest Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions serving Silicon Valley, the Greater Bay Area and Tucson, Arizona announced today that three of their members are winners in the PSCU Financial Services "Beat the Heat Bill Pay Sweepstakes." Rodney Jeter of Tucson, AZ was our honorable mention winner of $100, Carlos Rangel of Tucson, AZ was a second place winner of an Apple iPod Nano and Tami Maggio of Lincoln, CA was the National Grand Prize Winner of the Beat the Heat Summer Sweepstakes and will be awarded $10,000.
Meriwest Credit Union introduced the "Beat the Heat" Summer Online Bill Pay Contest in partnership with PSCU Financial Services, an electronic banking services provider to credit unions. To enter the contest, Meriwest Credit Union members were required to pay at least three bills through Online Banking and Bill Pay in the months of June and July. The members received an entry in to the sweepstakes for every bill paid through the online service. As a result of the contest, Meriwest Credit Union realized an 8% increase in their bill pay subscribers from June 1, 2008 through the 31st of July. During that same period, the number of payments made through the service had increased by an additional 1,100 items.
